Claire finally confessed.
She had worked for Continuity.
But not willingly.
Her younger brother had been taken by the organization.
They threatened to kill him if she refused.
She became the architect of the conditioning program.
Then she discovered Lily.
“She reminded me of myself.”
Claire cried.
“I couldn't let them destroy her.”
So she sabotaged the experiments.
She altered records.
She created false identities.
She secretly helped Anna escape.
But she had failed once.
During the university attack, Claire believed Continuity would kill Lily.
She intervened.
That was why she had been inside the hospital.
Daniel stared at her.
“You could have told us.”
“I tried.”
“You kidnapped Lily.”
“I was protecting her from a larger operation.”
Lily stepped forward.
“You were still wrong.”
Claire nodded.
“I know.”
Daniel looked at her.
“Then help us finish this.”
Claire wiped her tears.
“How?”
“Destroy Continuity.”
