Emma hated all of them.

“Are you suing for your inheritance?”
Emma stopped.
“No.”
Cameras moved closer.
“Do you want control of Mercer Development?”
“No.”
“What do you want?”
Emma looked directly into the cameras.
“My mother spent the last years of her life trying to prove children were being harmed because powerful people decided money mattered more than truth.”
The crowd became quiet.
“I want those families compensated. I want Donna Pike's family to have justice. And I want my mother's name returned to her.”
That night Adrian watched the interview.
“You handled that better than most executives I've trained.”
Emma smiled.
“Maybe because I don't want to be an executive.”
Adrian handed her legal documents.
As his biological child, Emma had a claim under an old Mercer family trust.
Potentially hundreds of millions.
Emma closed the folder.
“I don't want it.”
“You don't have to decide now.”
“I already did.”
She proposed something else.

Adrian stared at her.
