Chapter 24 - The Silver Drive
Claire held up the silver drive.
“This contains verified copies of payment records, threats and altered medical reports. Investigators already have the originals.”
Ryan gripped the cage fence.
“You stole them.”
“I preserved evidence.”
“You ruined my gym.”
“No. You did.”
The screen displayed a series of transactions. Money intended for injured fighters had been redirected through Iron Harbor Wellness.
Noah’s unpaid medical bill appeared beside a payment marked as completed.
Marcus’s settlement appeared beside deleted camera records.
Rosa’s photographs showed the hidden storage room.
Ryan looked toward the exits.
Several uniformed officers entered the building.
He turned back to Claire.
“You think your father made you strong?”
Claire shook her head.
“He reminded me I already was.”
Ryan threw down the microphone.
He pushed open the cage door and moved rapidly toward her.
Elias stepped between them but kept his hands lowered.
“Stop,” Elias said.
Ryan smiled wildly.
“Finally.”
He raised his fists.
Elias did not.
“This isn’t a fight,” Elias replied. “It’s evidence.”
