Chapter 31 - The DNA Trap
The police examined the report.
The laboratory existed.
The doctor existed.
But the sample number was fake.
Claire looked at Margaret.
“Someone wants you to believe I'm your daughter.”
Margaret stared.
“You aren't?”
“I don't know.”
Arthur stepped forward.
“But Daniel said she was.”
“Daniel could have been manipulated.”
Margaret's stomach tightened.
After everything, she no longer knew whom to trust.
Then the police officer returned.
“We found something.”
A surveillance image appeared.
Someone had entered the laboratory.
The person wore a mask.
But the officer enlarged the image.
Margaret recognized the coat.
Ryan's.
Arthur whispered:
“Your son.”
Margaret shook her head.
“No.”
The officer looked at her.
“Why?”
“Because Ryan wasn't wearing that coat that night.”
Everyone turned toward Emily.
