The three sisters gathered beside the lake.
Evelyn stood behind them.
Lily sat in front.
Ethan took the photograph.
“Ready?”
Rachel smiled.
“Wait.”
She reached for Rebecca's hand.
Rebecca reached for the third sister.
The three women stood together.
No false identities.
No assigned roles.
No one missing.
Ethan took the picture.
Later, Rachel looked at it.
She noticed something.
In the background was the old lake house.
But the windows were dark.
The house no longer mattered.
She turned the photograph over.
Lily had written something.
WE ARE NOT WHAT THEY CALLED US.
