Marlene appeared at the end of the corridor.
She looked tired.
Old.
But still composed.
“You think you've won.”
Rachel stepped forward.
“No.”
Marlene smiled.
“Then you understand.”
Rachel looked at her.
“I don't want revenge.”
Marlene's smile disappeared.
“I want the truth.”
“You already have it.”
“No.”
Rachel pointed toward the evidence.
“You have secrets.”
She pointed toward Rebecca.
“You have victims.”
Then toward Evelyn.
“You have people you hurt.”
Finally, she pointed toward Lily.
“And you have a child who will grow up knowing exactly who she is.”
Marlene's eyes hardened.
“You'll regret destroying your family.”
Rachel shook her head.
“You destroyed it.”
She took Ethan's hand.
“We're rebuilding it.”
