Nobody spoke after Lily finished.
Three girls named Rachel.
Ethan looked at his wife.
Rachel looked at the photograph.
Evelyn Mercer was alive.
And somehow, she had been connected to Rachel since childhood.
Claire broke the silence.
“We need to move.”
Alvarez nodded.
“Already arranged.”
Ethan gathered Lily's things.
Rachel didn't move.
She was staring at the photograph.
“Three girls,” she whispered.
“What if I'm one of them?”
“You are Rachel.”
“No.”
She looked at Ethan.
“What if Rachel is only the name they gave me?”
Ethan reached for her hand.
“You're my wife.”
Rachel's eyes filled with tears.
“That doesn't answer the question.”
Before anyone could respond, Claire's secure phone rang.
She listened.
Her expression changed.
“Evelyn Mercer has contacted us.”
Rachel stood.
“What did she say?”
Claire looked directly at her.
“She wants to see you.”
“Where?”
Claire hesitated.
“Her exact words were:”
“Tell Rachel I owe her the truth.”
Then the call ended.
Lily suddenly spoke.
“She shouldn't come here.”
Everyone turned.
“Why?”
