Emilia searched through decades of hotel records.
The debt agreement looked genuine and carried her grandmother’s signature.
But Clara immediately identified the problem.
Her mother had injured her right hand months before the contract was supposedly signed.

The signature on Silas’s contract leaned in the wrong direction.
It was a forgery.
