Chapter 27 - The Key Beneath the Clock
Emilia tested the brass key on every unopened cabinet in her grandmother’s office.
Nothing fit.
Then she noticed the old grandfather clock had stopped at exactly 4:17.
Behind its face was a narrow keyhole.
The brass key turned smoothly.
A hidden compartment opened, revealing a small black notebook filled with dates, initials and large payments.
One name appeared more than any other:
Silas Voss.
Julian’s father.
