Chapter 16 - Her Father’s Arrival
Victor Cross arrived without warning.
He embraced Emilia in front of the staff and spoke like a concerned father.
Privately, his voice changed.
“Sell the hotel and come home.”
Emilia asked about her mother.
Victor’s face became still.
“Your mother was unstable. She left you.”
Emilia placed the photograph on the desk.
For the first time, Victor lost control.
He grabbed it, tore it in half, and demanded to know where she had found it.
