Chapter 12 - The Fourth Floor

The hotel staff insisted the fourth floor had been empty for decades.
Yet each morning, Emilia found fresh footprints in the dust.
She ordered the locks replaced, but the locksmith refused after seeing the door.
“This lock was installed from the inside,” he told her.
That should have been impossible.
Before leaving, he handed Emilia a folded piece of paper he had discovered beneath the carpet.
