Emily refused to rename the center after herself.
Instead it became the Margaret Vale Center for Evidence and Recovery.
Abraham raised an eyebrow.
"You sure about that?"
Emily understood the question.
Margaret had made serious mistakes.
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because memorials shouldn't require saints."
Abraham smiled.
Howard attended the dedication with Noah, now seventeen and taller than both of them.
Noah had decided he wanted to study law.
Gideon accused Howard of corrupting him.
Howard blamed Gideon.
Emily watched them argue beneath the chandeliers.
Once, that room had contained sixty people who watched her humiliation and did nothing.
