THE CAMERA NEVER LIES / Chapter 9 / 15

Chapter 9 - The Impossible Timeline

Emma couldn't accept it.

Her father had died six months earlier.

The accident happened only two days ago.

Yet Diane claimed the recording suggested otherwise.

Detective Mason questioned her carefully.

Officer Mason: “Are you saying your husband was alive after the date of his death?”

Diane: “No.”

Officer Mason: “Then explain.”

Diane: “I can't.”

Emma watched her mother.

Emma: “You know something.”

Diane: “Yes.”

Emma: “What?”

Diane: “I don't know if I can tell you.”

Emma: “You already lied about everything.”

Diane flinched.

Then Tyler entered.

Tyler: “Mom.”

Diane turned.

Tyler looked terrified.

Tyler: “They found the warehouse.”

Emma stared at him.

Emma: “What warehouse?”

Tyler: “The one Dad used.”

Officer Mason: “Where is it?”

Tyler hesitated.

Tyler: “I don't know.”

Emma: “Tyler.”

Tyler looked at her.

Tyler: “I swear.”

Then his phone rang.

He answered.

No one spoke.

His expression changed.

Tyler: “Okay.”

He hung up.

Emma: “Who was that?”

Tyler looked at Diane.

Tyler: “They said they have the original.”

Officer Mason: “Original what?”

Tyler shook his head.

Then the lights in the hospital flickered.

The room went dark.

A security alarm sounded somewhere down the corridor.

When the emergency lights came on, Tyler was gone.

So was the memory card.
