Chapter 12 - The Door Beneath the Crib
The damaged system released the nursery. The woman in white revealed her name was Celeste and accused me of abandoning her at Site Zero.
A crib concealed a hatch requiring both Subject 001 and Subject 002. Maya's voice came from below, warning that she was not alone.
Celeste explained the Archive Key was my blood in a viral carrier designed to activate children as memory receivers. Helena intended to install my memory patterns into thousands of stolen children.
The hatch offered release or purge. I used Kenneth's code, 684291, to reveal a hidden third option: transfer authority. I assigned it to the child who called herself Hope, whose original identity was Lucy Bennett.
The hatch opened. Below were hundreds of children in glass cylinders. Maya lay beside the steel case.
Then a healthy third Kenneth emerged.
