SHE IS NOT YOUR PROPERTY / Chapter 12 / 15

Chapter 12 - every pilot refused him

Vale Meridian International was surrounded before Flight 714 returned.

Not by Adrian’s security officers.

By his employees.

The Orion Ledger had delivered its records to every registered crew member whose name had been used without permission. Pilots who had been blamed for missing fuel, false routes, and unauthorized landings received proof that Adrian’s company had altered their histories.

Mechanics learned that aircraft they had certified had been modified after inspection.

Schedulers discovered flights added beneath their accounts.

Families received confirmation that missing relatives had boarded Vale Meridian aircraft long after the company claimed they were dead.

The employees did not riot.

They did something more effective.

They stopped working.

Every legitimate aircraft remained parked.

Fuel teams locked their controls.

Ground crews placed service vehicles across the private runway.

Pilots entered the control tower and refused orders from Soren’s remaining officials.

When Flight 714 approached, they cleared one runway for Captain Ortiz.

Only one.

The second aircraft continued behind her.

Its registration signal identified it as a medical transport, but Mara found no corresponding medical route in the ledger.

“It is gaining on them,” Cross said.

Elias contacted military air command.

For several unbearable seconds, no one answered.

Then a senior operations officer came onto the channel.

“Commander Voss, your authority remains suspended.”

“I am not requesting authority. I am reporting an unidentified aircraft pursuing a civilian jet carrying federal suspects and a rescued pilot.”

“We received the Orion files.”

“Then you know this is not a private dispute.”

A pause followed.

“Military interceptors are seven minutes away.”

Flight 714 was less than three minutes from the runway.

The unknown aircraft moved closer.

Mara searched the ledger for remote commands.

A line of text appeared.

SECONDARY AIRCRAFT REQUIRES FOUNDER AUTHORIZATION.

“Gabriel, who are the founders?”

“My brother and I were not founders. We were witnesses added later.”

“Daniel Ellison, Malcolm Vale, Victor Soren, and the person cut from the photograph.”

“Yes.”

“Adrian is Malcolm’s son. Would the system accept him?”

“Only if Malcolm transferred his authorization.”

Mara remembered the handwritten note in her original contract.

Do not allow Adrian direct authority over her.

Malcolm had feared his own son.

He would never have transferred founder access willingly.

The unknown aircraft moved into Flight 714’s blind spot.

Elias heard Captain Ortiz fighting with someone inside the jet.

“Mara, can you open their passenger cabin remotely?”

She searched the control screen.

The system requested a witness vote.

Five names appeared.

Daniel Ellison.

Malcolm Vale.

Gabriel Voss.

Elias Voss.

Mara Ellison.

Two names were marked inactive.

Daniel and Malcolm.

Gabriel placed his hand on the identity scanner.

His name turned green.

Elias did the same.

Mara completed the vote.

The executive jet’s cabin doors unlocked.

Captain Ortiz’s voice returned.

“Secondary cockpit secured. Adrian and Soren are contained in the main cabin.”

The unknown aircraft accelerated.

Cross looked through binoculars.

“Its forward compartment is opening.”

Elias understood.

“Not a medical transport.”

The military interceptors were still four minutes away.

Mara searched every Orion command.

One option appeared beneath Flight 714.

TRANSFER IDENTITY.

“What does that mean?”

Gabriel read the code.

“It moves the Flight 714 registration to another aircraft.”

“Would the following plane recognize it?”

“If its targeting system is connected to Orion, yes.”

Mara selected the unknown aircraft.

The screen warned that identity transfer required an active founder.

No founder was available.

Then one name illuminated.

DANIEL ELLISON.

Mara stopped breathing.

The system showed his authorization as active.

Her father was alive and connected to the ledger at that moment.

A message appeared beneath his name.

TRANSFER APPROVED.

The Flight 714 identity vanished from Adrian’s jet and appeared on the pursuing aircraft.

The pursuer immediately changed course.

Its open forward compartment closed.

Instead of continuing toward Vale Meridian, it turned north as though responding to a new command.

Military interceptors arrived and surrounded it.

Captain Ortiz lowered the landing gear.

Flight 714, now carrying its legitimate registration, descended through the rain.

Hundreds of Vale Meridian employees stood behind the safety barriers.

Adrian appeared at the cabin window.

He looked down at the pilots, mechanics, attendants, and administrators he had controlled through fear and falsified debt.

He made a call to the ground tower.

No one answered.

He tried the company security channel.

Silence.

He contacted the executive pilot network.

One voice finally responded.

“This is Senior Captain Marcus Lee.”

Adrian leaned toward the cockpit radio.

“Clear my departure aircraft and remove these people from the runway.”

Captain Lee looked through the tower glass at the employees below.

“No.”

“I own this airfield.”

“Not anymore.”

“You work for me.”

Captain Lee’s answer reached every radio in the aviation club.

“We flew for Vale Meridian. We never belonged to you.”

The jet landed.

Federal tactical officers loyal to military legal command surrounded it before the engines stopped.

Soren emerged first with his hands visible.

Adrian remained inside.

Elias climbed the boarding stairs.

Mara followed several steps behind him.

Adrian stood alone in the cabin, holding the original contract over a small flame from the emergency galley.

“Another step and it burns.”

Mara looked at the document.

Then she looked at Adrian.

“You still think that page owns me.”

“It proves whether you are a witness or a criminal.”

“No. The truth does that.”

She lifted her phone.

The contract had already been released with the Orion records.

Adrian stared at the screen.

Every page was public.

His hand lowered.

The fire touched the corner of the original document.

Mara took a glass of water from the galley and poured it over the flame.

The paper fell to the floor, damaged but readable.

Adrian looked toward Elias.

“Arrest her. She released classified routes.”

Elias stepped aside.

Investigator Cross entered with military legal officers.

“She released evidence of unlawful detention, falsified aviation records, obstruction, abduction, and conspiracy.”

Adrian’s confidence finally disappeared.

Cross secured his hands.

As she led him toward the door, he looked at Mara.

“You believe this ends because I am arrested?”

Mara held his gaze.

“No.”

May you like

Adrian smiled faintly.

“Good. Your father taught you something after all.”
