Kenton replied, “It only has to hold until the hospital money clears.”

Another conversation discussed deleting Amber’s authorship files.

Sienna sat alone on the office floor, listening to the man she planned to marry describe everyone around him as disposable.

Daniel arranged the meeting in a private hotel conference room. Sienna arrived without makeup, sunglasses, or the diamond ring.

Amber remained cautious.

“You helped him humiliate me publicly.”

“I know.”

“You implied I was mentally unstable.”

“I repeated what he told me.”

“That doesn’t excuse it.”

“No.”

Sienna placed the hidden phone on the table.

“But this might help stop him.”

Daniel listened to several recordings.

His expression changed.

“Does Kenton know you have this?”

“No.”

“Can you testify about where you found it?”

“Yes.”

Amber studied Sienna.

“Why are you doing this?”

Sienna looked at Amber’s pregnant belly, then away.

“Because I saw an email from your doctor’s office on his computer. You sent him the date of the anatomy scan. He forwarded it to his assistant and wrote, ‘Handle this.’”

Amber remembered waiting in the clinic that day, hoping Kenton might appear.

He never responded.

Sienna’s voice dropped.

“I knew you were pregnant. I didn’t understand that he had never attended a single appointment.”

“He didn’t want to.”

“I’m sorry.”

Amber did not forgive her that day.

Amber remained silent.

His breathing changed.

Amber looked across the room.

Isaac was assembling a crib with an instruction manual in one hand and a wooden panel upside down in the other.

She almost laughed.

“Kenton, you never understood what makes a man valuable.”

She ended the call.

Within an hour, Northstar’s legal team filed an emergency motion attempting to prevent Amber from contacting investors, employees, and hospital representatives.

The motion brought both parties back to family court because Kenton claimed Amber had violated temporary divorce orders involving shared business assets.

Daniel smiled when he received the filing.

“He just gave us the perfect place to submit the evidence.”

“When?”
