Miriam did not believe Margaret.
Arthur did.
“That woman has lied for forty years,” Miriam said.
“Which means she knows when a lie is useful,” Arthur replied.
Evelyn studied Clara’s corporate records again.
Age thirty-four.
Eight-million-dollar trust distribution.
Voss Meridian formed two years before she joined Grant Meridian.
Jonathan had appeared to control the operation.
But perhaps ownership had been deliberately hidden.
“Find the source of Clara’s trust,” Evelyn said.
Miriam’s investigators found it twelve hours later.
The money had come from a Liechtenstein foundation.
The foundation’s original beneficiary was Helena Voss.
