The Hotel Housekeeper Was Humiliated for Helping an Elderly Woman

OPENING CLIMAX

The entire ballroom suddenly fell silent.

Two hundred guests in black suits, evening gowns, diamonds, and expensive watches all turned their eyes toward the stage. Under the warm golden spotlight, an elderly woman with white hair stood before the microphone in an elegant white suit. Her hand still trembled slightly, but her voice was clear.

Victoria Langford stood below the stage, her proud smile frozen on her lips.

She had just been praised for donating a large sum to tonight’s charity gala. She was waiting for Beatrice Whitmore, the most powerful philanthropist in the city, to honor her in front of the entire upper class.

But Beatrice looked straight at the front row.

“Before we talk about tonight’s donations,” Beatrice said slowly, “I want to tell everyone about the only person who stopped to save me when I could not breathe.”

Victoria froze.

Soft whispers spread through the room.

Beatrice continued:

“That person was not wearing an evening gown. She was not wearing expensive jewelry. She was not sitting in the honored front row. She was only a housekeeper at this hotel.”

The large doors at the end of the ballroom opened.

Elena walked in.

She was still wearing her light gray housekeeper uniform. Her black hair was tied neatly behind her head. Her face carried the exhaustion of a long workday, but her eyes were gentle and sincere.

Victoria’s face turned pale.

Because only a few hours earlier, Victoria had pointed at Elena and shouted:

“A housekeeper like you has no right to touch an important guest!”

Now, the woman Victoria thought was only a weak old lady stood on the stage, holding the dignity of the entire room in her hands.

Beatrice looked at Elena, then at Victoria.

“And that same girl,” she said, “was humiliated because of her kindness.”

The glass in Victoria’s hand trembled.

Beatrice’s voice lowered.

“Tonight, I want everyone to know the truth.”
