The Fiancée Slaps the Maid, Then the Little Boy Reveals Everything

The slap rang through the luxurious hall like the sound of shattering glass.

Every guest at the Harrington family’s engagement party fell silent.

The violin music suddenly felt out of place. The crystal chandelier still shone above them, champagne glasses still sparkled beneath the golden light, and elegant evening gowns still shimmered across the marble floor.

But in a single second, all that luxury was torn apart by one woman’s hand.

Cassandra Vale, the future fiancée of billionaire Adrian Harrington, stood in the middle of the hall with fury written across her face. She wore a silver evening gown, a diamond necklace around her throat, and her brown hair was styled perfectly in an elegant updo.

Everything about her looked noble.

Except her eyes.

They were cold, arrogant, and full of contempt as she stared at the maid holding one side of her reddened cheek.

The maid’s name was Emma.

She was twenty-seven years old, dressed in the simple black-and-white uniform of the mansion staff. Before the slap, Emma had only been carrying a tray of drinks past the table displaying the engagement gifts. She had bent down to pick up a handkerchief that had fallen to the floor when Cassandra rushed toward her.

“Who do you think you are to touch my things?”

Emma stumbled backward. The tray slipped from her hands. Crystal glasses crashed onto the floor. Champagne spilled across the white marble.

Several guests gasped. Some frowned. Some exchanged glances.

But no one dared to step forward.

Because the woman who had just struck Emma was Cassandra Vale — the daughter of a prestigious family, the woman about to become Adrian Harrington’s wife, and in the eyes of many, the future mistress of this mansion.

Emma knelt down, trembling as she picked up the broken pieces of glass.

“Miss, I didn’t take anything,” Emma said quietly. “I only saw your handkerchief fall—”

“Shut up.”

Cassandra stepped closer, her silver high heel stopping right in front of Emma’s hand.

“Someone like you,” she said slowly and cruelly, “belongs beneath my feet.”

At that moment, a child’s voice suddenly rang out.

“You’re lying!”

The entire hall turned.

A six-year-old boy rushed out from beside the banquet table. He wore a tiny black suit, his bow tie slightly crooked, and his blue eyes were filled with tears but burning with anger.

It was Leo Harrington, Adrian’s nephew — the orphaned child Adrian had raised after his brother passed away.

Leo ran straight to Emma and spread his small arms in front of her as if protecting her.

Cassandra’s expression changed, but she quickly forced a gentle voice.

“Leo, you don’t understand. This maid touched my ring.”

“No!” Leo shouted. “You were the one who took the ring!”

Whispers immediately spread through the hall.

Cassandra froze.

Emma lifted her head in shock.

Adrian stopped in the middle of the crowd, his cold eyes fixed on his fiancée.

Leo pointed straight at Cassandra.

“I saw everything. You took the ring out of the box, hid it in your purse, and then dropped your handkerchief on purpose so you could blame Miss Emma.”

The air turned frozen.

Cassandra went pale, but then she let out a cold laugh.

“Leo, you’re just a child. You imagined too much.”

Leo tightened his grip on Emma’s hand.

“I didn’t imagine it.”

Then he reached into the pocket of his little suit and pulled out a small blue toy camera.

“I recorded it.”

This time, the entire room truly fell into dead silence.

The smile on Cassandra’s lips disappeared completely.

Adrian slowly stepped forward, his voice low.

“Malcolm.”

The old butler immediately came forward.

“Yes, sir.”

“Connect Leo’s camera to the main screen.”

Cassandra hurried toward him.

“Adrian, are you really going to believe a child over me?”

Adrian looked at her.

He did not shout.

He did not rage.

But his eyes made Cassandra take half a step back.

“I believe the truth.”

The large screen at the end of the hall lit up.

A few seconds later, the video began to play.

In the slightly shaky footage from the child’s camera, Cassandra appeared clearly beside the display table. She looked around, thinking no one was watching, then quickly opened the ring box. The Harrington family’s heirloom engagement ring sparkled in her palm.

She slipped it into her silver clutch.

Then she deliberately dropped her handkerchief near Emma’s feet.

After that, she turned around, her face transforming into perfect outrage, and rushed over to slap Emma.

The video ended in heavy silence.

No one said a word.

Cassandra stood in the middle of the hall, her lips trembling. Her flawless makeup could no longer hide the panic on her face.

Adrian held out his hand.

“Your purse.”

Cassandra shook her head.

“No. This is a misunderstanding. I only wanted to keep the ring safe. I didn’t—”

“Your purse,” Adrian repeated, colder this time.

Cassandra clutched the purse tightly, as if holding on to the last piece of dignity she had left.

Then Eleanor Harrington, Adrian’s mother, slowly stood up.

“Cassandra,” she said. “Give him the purse.”

Finally, Cassandra handed it over with trembling hands.

Malcolm opened it in front of everyone.

The diamond ring was inside.

A long breath of shock moved through the crowd.

Emma was still kneeling on the floor, her face pale. Leo held on to her arm tightly, as if he were afraid she would be hurt again.

Adrian bent down and helped Emma stand.

“You do not need to kneel before anyone in this house,” he said.

Emma was speechless.

Cassandra forced a weak smile.

“Adrian, let me explain. I only wanted to test her. A maid should not have been standing so close to something that valuable. I did it to protect your family.”

“By framing an innocent person?” Adrian asked.

“I am your fiancée!”

“Not anymore.”

Those two words fell softly, but they struck Cassandra like a blade.

Adrian removed the engagement ring from Cassandra’s finger.

Not violently.

Not dramatically.

Just firmly.

“The party is over.”

Cassandra widened her eyes.

“You can’t do this to me! Do you know who my family is?”

Adrian looked at her one last time.

“You should be asking yourself who you are after tonight.”

Then he turned to the butler.

“Escort Miss Vale out. From now on, she is no longer allowed to enter any Harrington property.”

As the doors of the hall opened and Cassandra was led out of the mansion, Leo finally burst into tears. He threw his arms around Emma.

“I’m sorry,” he sobbed. “I saw her do it, but I was so scared…”

Emma knelt and hugged him, her voice trembling.

“No, Leo. You were very brave.”

Adrian stood beside them, watching quietly.

Because tonight, Cassandra was not the only one whose mask had been torn away.

There was another truth he had almost failed to see.
