THE BILLIONAIRE’S CHILD EXPOSES THE TRUTH DURING THE WIFE SELECTION DINNER

The silver spoon fell onto the marble floor, ringing out with a cold, sharp sound in the middle of the luxurious dining hall.

No one dared to breathe.

Three beautiful women in glamorous evening gowns sat frozen at the dinner table. Their fake smiles had not even fully disappeared. Glasses of red wine shimmered beneath the crystal chandeliers. White roses covered the long dining table, but in that moment, the entire room felt as cold as ice.

Little Oliver, the two-year-old son of billionaire Alexander Reed, was hugging the leg of a housemaid.

Not the woman in the elegant red dress.

Not the woman in white who looked gentle like an angel.

Not the woman in the pale blue gown who had been trying to smile as sweetly as possible.

The little boy had walked past all of them.

Past their open arms.

Past their sweet voices.

Past the expensive gifts carefully placed on the table.

And then he ran straight toward Elena — the quiet housemaid standing near the dessert table.

Oliver buried his little face into her apron. His tiny hands clung to her tightly, as if he were afraid that if he let go, the only person he trusted in the world would disappear.

Then he laughed.

It was the first laugh that had echoed through the Reed mansion in months.

But right after that laugh, one single word came out of his mouth and froze the entire room.

“Mommy…”

Elena turned pale.

Her eyes filled with panic. The hand that had dropped the spoon trembled so badly she could not hide it. She quickly bent down, trying to gently separate Oliver from her, but the boy only held on tighter.

Alexander Reed stood a few steps away.

The most powerful man in the hotel industry, the man who made veteran rivals lower their heads in boardrooms, now stood completely still.

His sharp eyes stared at Elena.

There was shock in his gaze.

There was suspicion.

There was pain.

And there was a storm beginning to rise.

Alexander’s voice dropped, so cold that the servant standing near the door shivered.

“Oliver…”

He took one step forward.

“What did you just call her?”

Oliver looked up with clear, innocent eyes. The little boy did not understand why all the adults had suddenly gone silent. He only knew that the woman he was holding onto was the only place where he felt safe.

He pressed his cheek against Elena’s hand and said it again, more clearly.

“Mommy.”

Alexander slowly turned his head and looked at the three women sitting at the dinner table.

They had all come here for one purpose.

One of them might become the next Mrs. Reed.

At least, that was what society believed.

But in that moment, Alexander knew this dinner was no longer a selection.

It had become a trial.

And the one exposing the truth was his little son.

Alexander spoke.

“Close the doors.”

The butler froze.

“Sir?”

“I said close every door. No one leaves this room until I know why my son is calling her Mommy.”

The large walnut doors slowly shut.

The soft sound of the lock echoed.

The three women exchanged nervous glances.

Elena lowered her head even more.

Oliver still clung tightly to her.
